Accessibility accommodations and adaptive computer technology program

The AAACT Program currently provides to Shared Services Canada and Other Government Departments a wide range of services on a cost-recovery basis for persons with disabilities, injuries, ergonomic requirements, technicians, webmasters, application developers, project managers and end-users. AAACT has received international recognition for the unique services provided to persons with disabilities, injuries and ergonomic requirements.

How effective is the program, and are leaders aware of the real life challenges? The services, knowledge, support, training and other items are there. I would assume that people need to be forced to learn and follow standards. Similar to other organisations. Some disabilities may require necessary testing accommodations.

Disability Services uses the latest in adaptive technology and assistive devices. We have a wide range of computer systems adapted to the specialized needs of people with visual impairments and other disabilities. For example, for hearing impaired students, real-time captioning can be used right in the classroom.

Here are a few examples of some of the latest and greatest innovations in accessible technology. In some cases, a related or similar device is available for student use at WSU. But not always!
